The businesses main problems were their services were being provided by several suppliers and were not integrated within their computer solutions. This was leading to confusion with where the responsibility lay for resolving their problems. This also resulted in costly support contracts from each of the suppliers. John, the owner of the business, said ‘the business was being held back by the lack of system integration which was creating inefficiency’s. Our previous suppliers were not interested in new technology and did seem to want to change’.
How we helped:
We met with John and discussed his business needs, what he felt worked well, what didn’t and what his needs were. Our consultants recommended to John:
- Replace his telephone system and his ISDN telephone line with a hosted telephony solution. The solution uses his business internet connection to make calls, saving money due to not requiring a telephone system (or support) and not requiring the ISDN lines and rental. The solution also offers resilience, so if the internet connection fails he will be able to make calls using his analogue line (part of the ADSL internet access).
- Move his emails and data (including backups) to the cloud (our datacentre) giving him access from anywhere he can get an internet connection using his laptop, tablet or smartphone.
John’s comment’s after we completed the project:
My staff are now mobile and can work from our clients or from home, on live information and are up to date with emails and communications. This has enabled us to reduce duplication in works and the possibility of overwriting data. Our clients have commentated on how responsive we now are and like the fact we can work with them at their offices with live information.
It’s great to have a single inclusive monthly bill, no hidden extra costs. The support was a revelation, only one company to ring who were actually interested in helping us straight away. Having one support contract saves us time and money. We all know who to call if we have a problem.
I have no worries now about my backups and it’s brilliant to have integrated technology that actually works together.
